Google’s Latest Licensable Images Features Are Now Officially Available!
Have you heard the exciting news? Google Images announced earlier today their licensable images feature, providing photographers with additional ways to increase discovery of their content and potentially earn more income.
PhotoShelter recently focused heavily on SEO efforts, with photographers devoting additional time and resources to it. But for all their hard work in optimizing their photos for SEO purposes, photographers still lacked an effective method for marketing them on Google Images – something now easier than ever for potential buyers!
Google now displays “Licensable” badges on image thumbnails in Google Images search results if that photo has a usage license and associated metadata, reinforcing its value while leading visitors directly to where a license can be acquired for its usage. This should serve both to reinforce its worth as well as drive more business your way.
Google Images’ release is hugely significant for independent photographers looking to sell images via their websites, as it could become an important source of traffic and sales if photographers take full advantage of its potential.
Andrew Fingerman, PhotoShelter CEO told Google: “Google Images’ licensable image features will usher in a revolutionary shift in how professional creative teams discover unique content,” creating discovery opportunities for agencies and independent photographers alike, providing them with an efficient process to quickly find and acquire relevant licensable material quickly and efficiently.
“I’m thrilled to see Google taking such an essential step toward protecting the rights of artists like myself,” Nikon Ambassador Ami Vitale remarked to us. “With their new licensable images features and tools such as PhotoShelter, my work should be protected against theft while more easily sold to those looking to use it.
