PhotoShelter Product Enhancements: A Message from Andrew Fingerman

Today I am thrilled to present some much-anticipated updates about PhotoShelter for Photographers. Since our last interaction regarding our efforts and development efforts at PhotoShelter, our team has been hard at work on various projects that deliver new user experiences, more capabilities and improvements on key features, while developing ways of meeting our photographers needs in new ways.

Numerous Photographers have expressed a desire for a more contemporary PhotoShelter for Photographers, and we are responding with significant investments to meet it. Currently we’re modernizing our platform in order to bring significant enhancements both our UI and workflow – this update includes replacing Image Browser with Library that offers improved functionality as well as user experience; photographers may even leverage new features introduced with Brands platform! This project commenced late 2022 and we anticipate completion by all 2023.

Investment in our infrastructure ensures your images will always look their best (and remain safe and protected).
PhotoShelter understands your trust is of utmost importance, which is why our core company value is “rock solid reliable.” Over the years we’ve built an infrastructure designed to keep all your files secure. Recently we’ve made various infrastructure enhancements behind-the-scenes to enhance speed and reliability on our platform; these backend updates have already enhanced your overall experience, enabling us to continue protecting images efficiently for you.

Additionally, we’ve been investing heavily in cutting-edge image processing technology to deliver you uncompromisingly strong displays for your photos. Recently we made major enhancements to our RAW image processing that significantly enhance its display – for newly uploaded RAW files we now utilize the JPG preview embedded with most cameras so they appear exactly the same when viewed in PhotoShelter as when seen directly through camera preview images.

New Templates: Next Steps
We are on an exciting new journey of rebuilding PhotoShelter for Photographers from within out. In recent years we had plans to develop an entirely new site builder tool but after carefully considering our efforts we decided not to pursue that initiative further. Following these improvements that will restructure PhotoShelter, we will look into integration options to bring you next generation website designs that you deserve. We have heard your feedback: you want more design options, optimal image navigation on mobile devices and stronger search engine optimization. So why are we taking an “inside out” approach? As we upgrade the back end, our website templates must align closely with user experience and information architecture improvements underway on product “front ends.” As with our platform upgrades currently underway, this next stage will involve greater communication and photographer feedback.

Smoothing Out Communication
Finally, we listened to your feedback that you prefer faster access to our support team. In an effort to meet this need as quickly as possible, we’re moving away from the call scheduling tool we introduced last year, as it seemed to delay our ability to help customers immediately. Instead, we have expanded our support staff in order to better assist when you need help in real time; just send us an email and if we cannot solve your issue easily via an immediate reply we will book a chat meeting immediately!

Please know that I’m personally dedicated to your success as photographers, providing an environment in which your work can be showcased, shared and monetized effectively. Thank you so much for being part of PhotoShelter for Photographers as we move toward its future together – your success and satisfaction remain central components of our mission!

PhotoShelter photographers deserve my heartfelt thanks, especially those who have been with us for nearly 18 years – many have been with us through all our investments and projects, opening new opportunities to collaborate and grow as part of the PhotoShelter community. Today marks a new chapter, and I can’t wait to deliver on them and help PhotoShelter grow with you all.
